Sally Field deserved the oscar. She was incredible in Norma Rae

@philipc67 Richard gave a good performance in The Goodbye Girl, but John Travolta deserved the Oscar for Saturday Night Fever.

Looks no different today? Um, ya sure .. uh .. whatever you say.

Richard looks totally sauced, buzzed, disgraceful. I also cannot take him seriously as an actor. His Oscar for THE GOODBYE GIRL was wasted. I agree that Bette Midler should have won that year, but Sally Field was also worthy.

The China Syndrome - prophetic film, and now we need it to get off foreign oil

luv Jill Clayburgh, luv Bette Midler, luv Jane Fonda - really love Marsha Mason. I would have given it to Bette for the Rose, but Sally Field turned a corner with this film, and it was that type of role. Again tough competition.
