This Week in Space - March 6, 2010

Hear Jennifer Aniston’s new tie to space, Buzz Aldrin muses on the next steps for NASA and his upcoming stint on “Dancing with the Stars,” the Space Coast braces for lay-offs, new proof of lunar ice, Discovery heads to the launch pad, Mars’s moon Phobos is ready for her close-up, Stardust preps to may another run at another comet, the Blue Marble returns - better than ever, Chandra spy some black hole jets, and NASA mourns the death of a trio of space pioneers.

miles I agree with the current business model and I hope it shows promise for you, because I believe the potential is there for “donationware”, free programming paid for by those who care

we should have a orbiting space station above all th eplanets we want to visit and have a vehicle built to simply travel between stations and then have a seperate vehicle to go to the surface and back

Yep this is a good idea, use aerocapture to slow down and something to speed up (ie VASIMIR?) But we should make it a tug to do both cargo and crew modularly. And have two of them to have good operations.

Excellent show, Miles- Hey, please keep up the reporting on that Military Spaceplane.
Regarding the Obama plan-
From an Orion Derived Capsule on a Delta IV or Atlas V or Falcon 9 we seem to have lots of options going forward- Plus we have the technology of at least Ares 1(x) and a shuttle derived vehicle to at least fall back on. Why all this hew and cry?
Please also follow Vasimir and the like
Thanks for the great work.

Only this show can tell me whats up in space. No news cable show or network news has ever done a better job with so much scope on this subject.

Miles, you guys continue to improve, such a great show you got going here. I hope it sticks around for awhile. And I hope you get to be the first journalist in space.
